Daniel Mark Ogden
Daniel Mark Ogden, Esq., is an attorney at law, a licensed customs broker, and an international trade consultant who for over 20 years has counseled and represented companies on various aspects of international trade and business. With advanced degrees and proficiency in both law and international business management, he possesses an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by firms involved in international trade not only from a legal but also a managerial and business perspective.
His professional services, which encompass a comprehensive range of international trade and business legal services and international trade consulting, are designed to assist U.S. firms in proactively managing the legal and business risks that result from their international trade and foreign business operations as well as from their domestic business, and to assist foreign firms in doing business in the United States. In addition to maintaining an active international trade and business law practice, he also frequently serves as a consultant and an expert witness in export and import compliance matters and conducts international trade compliance training.
He was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the North Texas District Export Council where he currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the NTDEC and the Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee. He also serves on the DEC National Steering Committee where he currently Chairs the Trade Policy Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the International Business and Trade Advisory Committee at Richland College.
He regularly serves as a moderator and presenter at NTDEC export compliance conferences, including the NTDEC Spring 2009 Non-U.S. Trade Controls conference where he chaired a panel on Global Trade Compliance Management Design and Structure, and the NTDEC Fall 2007 Exporters & Third Parties conference where he spoke on Export Compliance & Foreign Distribution Intermediaries. He also participated in the Baylor University 2007 Global Business Forum where he discussed U.S. Regulation of International Trade. He has further been a frequent guest speaker to a variety of organizations on such topics as International Sales Contracts; Foreign Agency and Distributorship Law; Export Trade Practices; Legal Aspects of Importing; and Foundations of Successful Exporting& Importing.
He has taught Transnational Law and Business Transactions at the Tianjin University of Finance and Economics in Tianjin, China; Introduction to International Business and Trade, International Marketing Management, and International Business Law at Richland College; and Export/Import Transaction Practices at Brookhaven College. He has also been a guest lecturer in International Business Transactions at Texas Tech University School of Law and in Export Market Development at the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management.
He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1987 from Texas Tech University School of Law and a Masters degree in International Management in 1984 from the University of Texas at Dallas Graduate School of Management. In addition to being a member of the State Bar of Texas, he is admitted to practice and has represented clients before the U.S. Court of International Trade (Bell vs. United States, 17 C.I.T. 1220, 839 F. Supp. 874, 1993), the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the U.S. Trademark Office. He also holds a customs broker license from the U.S. Customs Service (License No. 12477) which he received in 1991.

Lisa G. Kelley
Lisa began her career in the passenger airline and tour industry with a focus on hosting international tourist groups through the unique areas of the State of Alaska. She began her FedEx career in 1985 as a courier.Opportunities within FedEx allowed for a focus on quality, service, sales, root cause analysis, and training facilitation. She has managed FedEx logistics programs and projects for many fortune 500 companies.
For the past several years, she has focused on programs and projects that bring FedEx’s world wide sales teams together for greater collaboration, the promotion of international trade and the implementation of the FedEx alliance with the US Commercial Service in the U.S. and over 42 countries, with a large focus on ASIA. She facilitated the signing of FedEx’s alliance with Austrade.
She served as the president of the Business and Professionals Women’s organization in Seattle, and is a member of the Washington State District Export Council. Lisa currently resides in Seattle, is married, and has 3 sons.

Mark Ballam

Mark J. Ballam serves as managing director of San Diego State University’s Center for International Business Education and Research (SDSU CIBER). SDSU CIBER is one of thirty-three national centers of excellence designated by the U.S. Department of Education. The Center for International Business Education and Research program was created by the U.S. Congress under the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988 in order to increase and promote the nation's capacity for international understanding and economic competitiveness. The national CIBER network links the manpower and technological needs of the United States business community with the international education, language training, and research capacities of universities across the country. SDSU CIBER serves as regional and national resources to business executives, students, and teachers at all levels.
Mark is responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of the SDSU CIBER program. He oversees administration and management including budget, resources, advocacy, and communications. He also directs development of research and training activities and outreach initiatives. SDSU CIBER also supports the International Business program at San Diego State University. This specialized degree program is considered one of the largest in the country and has consistently ranked among the best in the nation. In 2010, San Diego State University’s International Business program was ranked #11 by U.S. News and World Report’s American Best Colleges Guide. Since his arrival at San Diego State University, he has been instrumental in raising nearly $5 million in grants and gifts. He was recently awarded the Dean’s Excellence Award. Mark came to San Diego State University in 2005, after serving eight years as associate director of the Georgia Institute of Technology CIBER. Before Georgia Tech, he had a twelve year career in the banking industry. Most recently, he was Vice President with SunTrust Bank.
A native of Cape Cod, Mark earned his B.A. degree in international relations from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. He attended North London PolyTech in London, England, and worked as a law clerk with Aaronson & Co., Solicitors. In 2004, he earned his MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
At SDSU, Mark is a member of the Executive Committee at the College of Business Administration. He also serves on the boards of several organizations including the World Trade Center San Diego, the Family Business Forum, and the Small Business Development and International Trade Center at Southwestern College. In 2010, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke designated Mark a member of the San Diego and Imperial District Export Council. He also serves as Steering Committee Chairman for the Consortium for Undergraduate International Business Education. Mark is an active member with the Academy of International Business, Scholars Without Borders, and Phi Beta Delta, the honor society for international scholars.

Dr. Maurice F. Snyder
Dr. Snyder has 30 years in international trade in U.S. exports. Most recently, he was Director, International covering Asia and South America with distributors and reps in the region. He lived and worked in Australia and Asia and was the founder and CEO of a sales and service distributor in Asia selling US products, including Texas Instruments and other US companies.Currently, he teaches International Business at Eastern Michigan University College of Business and is a member of the Michigan District Export Council (DEC) and the National DEC Steering Committee in Washington, DC.
His educational background includes a PhD, Electrical Engineering and is a published author of computer simulation articles. He has a working knowledge of Japanese.
