Free At Last: Congress Approves FTAs with Colombia, Panama and South Korea
The Free Trade Agreements between the United States and Colombia, Panama and South Korea have finally been passed by Congress, following years of rancor, lobbying and debate.
While the U.S. agreements were pending, Colombia, Panama, and South Korea all concluded trade agreements with major trading partners and export competitors of the United States, so the U.S. delay in implementing our own trade agreements with these countries has disadvantaged U.S. exporters and jeopardized U.S. job creation.
